3 reasons to go on a retreat

This is the Retreat card meaning from “Healing With The Angels Oracle Cards” by Doreen Virtue:

“Spend some time alone in quiet thought.  Clear your mind, and focus on your truth and priorities.

Are you pushing yourself too hard, beloved child of God?  The angels remind us that rest is a natural cycle in every living thing.  Think of the mighty oak tree that grows in spurts and then rests.  It draws its nourishment from deep within the Earth, and takes its time before growing upward again.  Like the oak tree, it’s important for you to nourish yourself with spiritual and emotional “food”.

While you are resting, take time to reflect on your heart’s true feelings and desires.  Your angels speak to you through your heart, and when you listen to and honor your feelings, you walk hand-in-hand with God and the angels.  You will know that it is true Divine guidance, and not just your imagination or wishful thinking if it speaks of your desire to make a difference in the world.”

I love how beautiful this is written. We can already draw some of the reasons to go on a retreat directly from the text. Here are the 3 strong reasons I see for entrepreneurs to go on a retreat:

Reason #1 Clear your mind, and focus on your truth and priorities. Spend some time alone in quiet thought.  Reflect on your heart’s true feelings and desires. I called my practice Strategic Achievement Coaching because I believe in achieving success that is sustainable and fulfilling. For this we need to retreat and reflect on our true feelings so when we set ourselves to achieving something we know that will be worth the investment we are making. Entrepreneurs are constantly on the go, tackling the many things requiring their attention and this does not allow for quiet time therefore going on a retreat is necessary.

Reason #2 Rest and nourish yourself with spiritual and emotional “food”. Taking care of yourself is even more important when you are an entrepreneur because your safety, your livelihood and the one of your loved ones depend on your ability to develop your business. Without you, there is no business. So there are many reasons to take time for you and go on a retreat where you can rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. When you go on an entrepreneurs retreat you nourish both yourself and your business, it cannot get better than this.

Reason #3 Connect and collaborate with others to really make a difference in the world. Being an entrepreneur can be very lonely. Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know. Coming together with other like-minded professionals to connect and mastermind can generate new ideas and insights for your business advancement.

There are probably many other reasons for an Entrepreneur to go on a retreat. The idea is to stop and smell the roses from time to time as this will breathe new life into your business. When you start feeling like a hamster on a wheel, instead of the captain of your own ship go on a retreat. True leaders know that they have to “step-back” and relax every once in a while to reinvent certain aspects of themselves and their businesses if they are to continue moving forward.

Your Strategic Achievement Assignment:

Please look at your schedule and determine a day (or more if you can) that you will stop everything you do and retreat. If you can join an actual retreat event with others that’s very good if not find a place in nature where you will be undisturbed and plan to go there with a journal. Share below when will you go on a retreat and what is your reason.

Blessings,

Irina
